Sr. PVC Chemist
Leading manufacturer is seeking a Sr. PVC Chemist with formulation and compounding expertise in PVC. Business is doing well and just had their best year in a decade!
Seeking a hands-on Sr. PVC Chemist, who will be responsible for providing technical leadership and support of the formulation, mixing, and calendaring of PVC products made by our facility. The focus of this role will be the innovation of new products of the PVC / plastic products as well as the optimization of current products and process. This position will provide support to the operations team to improve quality and cost of the products.
What this role is responsible for:
- Develop and revise formulations for current and new products to meet company goals
- Innovate/evaluate new and alternate raw materials for the support of company’s Sustainability goals
- Monitor raw materials and additives to ensure consistent product quality
- Write and update raw material purchasing specifications
- Assist quality team in monitoring production processes at all points through finished goods
- Support efforts to improve QCD
- Lead and facilitate cost savings projects in support of our WCM strategy
- Assist quality in diagnosing claim issues and identifying appropriate solutions
- Use the Management of Change (MOC) process to ensure change documentation where applicable
- Lead projects providing appropriate timelines and reports
- Work with outside vendors and consultants on new technologies that could improve products
- Owner of the formulation for the facilities

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science
- Minimum 5 years of experience in plastic processing
- Experience with PVC compounding is desired
- R&D Lab operational experience with high knowledge in chemical analysis
- Knowledge pf Plastic mixing and calendaring
- Experience in processing / laminating different polymers / blends
- Knowledge of raw material supply chain
- Project management skills / training / organization
- People management experience
