Sr. Staff Scientist

The Sr. Staff Scientist will have the following responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and commercialize innovative products to meet customer needs and application requirements
  • Work with multi-functional teams such as scientists, technical service representatives, marketing, sales, and manufacturing personnel
  • Self-starter with strong initiatives, and be able to provide strong leadership skills managing project timelines and resources
  • Build strong customer relationships by understanding customer’s needs and application details, and creating innovative solutions to solve customer unmet needs
  • Provide strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills to the projects including the ability to recognize the critical issues and gaps, and to develop effective solutions to technical roadblocks
  • Provide strong project management skills and have the ability to create project plans, manage critical pathways, and prioritize and manage multiple assignments
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with customers, suppliers, vendors and university / industry partners to support project objectives

Requirements:

  • MS/PhD Organic or Polymer from 2-8 years of experience in polyurethane polymerizations who has worked on developing polymers, and finished adhesives/coatings of new products by working with the Commercial team and customers
  • History of creative new product development, through presentations, patents, commercial products
  • Any additional skills in waterbased polymerization, latex, acrylics a big plus
  • Dynamic, high energy, excellent communicator
  • Team player, personable and professional
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Promotable, eager, go-getter
  • Creative, ability to overcome hurdles, hands-on in the lab, willingness to go/do/try, collaborator
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
