Sr. Synthesis Chemist

We are currently recruiting for a Sr. Synthesis Chemist.  This is a challenging, individual contributor position for a large chemical processing facility.  Daily essential duties to include:

  • Applying chemical knowledge for a variety of organic methodologies including alkoxylation, esterification, and radical polymerization
  • Product development work from ideation through product scale up and production
  • Work to resolve tough laboratory and production challenges including kilogram-scale synthesis of organic small molecule and polymer products
  • Assist in the determination of regulatory status of new products
  • Independently manage multiple long-range synthesis projects to include raw material procurement and evaluation, process development, and cost feasibility
  • Conduct analyses to determine product purity, and reaction completion
  • Generate data for SDS preparation
  • Oversee technology transfers to production

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Chemistry) with three to five years of relevant lab experience organic chemistry and polymerization
  • Demonstrated ability to write reports, laboratory procedures and customer communications
  • Experience in presenting laboratory information to various audiences including management and customers
  • Experience in training others in laboratory techniques and methodology
  • The ideal candidate would also have the following skills: Master’s degree or PhD in Polymer Chemistry or related discipline
