Staff Scientist – Nutrition and Pharma

This position requires expertise and knowledge in formulation of nutritional and dietary supplements, tablets, and/or pharmaceutical oral dosage products, including active and excipient (inactive) ingredients.  Successful candidate will utilize R&D experience to provide technical solutions to clients and run applications projects.  This position supports the sales team as the technical expert to offer guidance and solutions to clients.

Responsibilities:

• Manage technical relationship with customers to identify pipeline of opportunities and offer technical support and problem solving to current customers
• Work with sales and marketing team to identify unmet customer and industry needs to develop new solutions, technologies, and applications
• Provide support to the global sales team on existing product portfolio and new product launches by directly interfacing with customers and distribution channels
• Attend industry trade shows to support and promote company’s products
• Work with the quality team to review quality related documents and communicate to customers
• Develop and manage applications / R&D projects and customer Technical Service requests
• Design experiments and testing protocols to support projects
• Collect, analyze, and communicate results through reports and technical presentations
• Identify, and manage new product and innovation opportunities to deliver growth within the pharmaceutical and dietary supplement space
• Contribute to maintaining, improving, and advancing technical capabilities
• Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures

• Ability to use and troubleshoot technical issues and instruments
• Demonstrate ability to prioritize and manage complex projects

 Technical Qualifications:

Role Requirements

• Hands-on experience with excipients in Pharmaceutical and Dietary supplement
• Strong technical and communication skills to gain and maintain credibility with work teams and customers
• Ingredient technology and/or industry background in excipients
• Identify key end-users and develop high level relationships to drive projects and qualifications forward

Education

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical, Nutrition, Chemistry, or another related field
• Experience in formulation development, excipients, and co-excipients
• Experience at Pharmaceutical and/or dietary supplement company in formulation and excipients
• 5+ years of experience preferred
