(This position is onsite in the Greater Cincinnati area. Seeking candidates that are open to relocation for a position)
We are partnering with a growing food manufacturing organization seeking a Commodity Manager with strong protein sourcing expertise to support strategic procurement initiatives across key protein categories. This is a high-visibility opportunity for someone who understands protein commodity markets, supplier strategy, and procurement within food manufacturing environments.
The ideal candidate will bring experience sourcing categories such as Beef, Pork, Poultry and other fresh proteins. This Manager needs to be practical, strategic, and hands-on with supplier management and protein procurement operations. This position is onsite 5 days a week in office.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies across protein categories
• Manage supplier relationships and vendor performance
• Support supplier optimization and sourcing initiatives
• Conduct RFP/RFQ processes and negotiations
• Monitor commodity markets, feedstock impacts, and industry trends
• Partner cross-functionally with operations and planning teams
Required Experience:
• 7+ years of strategic sourcing experience within food manufacturing or food ingredients
• Protein sourcing/procurement background required
• Experience managing multiple suppliers/vendors
• Strong understanding of protein commodity markets
• Experience with RFPs/RFQs
