POSITION OVERVIEW/PURPOSE
Tax Senior
Tax Senior Associate responsibilities:
- Review tax returns for pass-through entities and high-net worth individuals
- Assure compliance with federal, state and local tax laws and regulations
- Conduct research and planning to resolve client issues according to applicable tax laws and regulations
- Minimize tax liability through sound and informed application of laws and regulations
- Provide assistance during tax audits
- Respond to notices from tax authorities
- Direct client contact involving income tax matters, transactional consulting, tax research, and compliance.
- Ability to anticipate client questions and is prepared to respond with practical solutions than can be implemented
- Advise, guide, coach and provide encouragement to team members
- Assign work to preparers and follow up on their progress
- Complete assigned projects in a timely manner and keep supervisors apprised of job status
Tax Supervisor
Description
• Maintain Tax Senior role/responsibility.
• Takes initiative with identifying and coordinating additional client projects.
• Maintains firm’s high level of quality control in tax and accounting.
• Develops and strengthens long-term relationships with clients.
• Develops and is accountable for the assignment of work and ensures assigned tasks and responsibilities are achieved.
• Plans, organizes and controls multiple responsibilities and resources to achieve assignment objectives.
• Advises, coaches and supports team members including providing consistent recognition and encouragement to team members to increase retention and utilization.
• Successfully builds, directs and maintains a motivated and empowered work team
• Structures work teams to successfully meet client expectations and help develop strong client partnerships.
• Consults with the Principal or Tax Senior Manager to anticipate project issues, assesses alternatives and takes appropriate measure to resolve assignment issues.
• Anticipates and communicates budget issues, identifies opportunities to improve assignment profitability.
• Development of functional specialization and/or industry expertise
• Supports the management in developing new initiatives to increase retention and staff development.
• Supports the management with decisions pertaining to policies and procedures and brings that support to the team.
• Identifies risk management issues.
• Identifies ways to manipulate technical software to client needs and trains others on software applications.
• Determines personal career path at firm.
• Assist in any other tasks as requested.
Tax Manager
Responsibilities of the Tax Manager:
- Manage and execute on engagements
- Deliver excellent client service on federal income tax matters
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of federal tax laws and problem solving
- Research and draft technical memoranda on various tax issues
- Perform business development and identify tax service opportunities
- Initiate and execute a marketing plan for the acquisition or expansion of professional services
- Conduct research and planning to resolve client issues according to applicable tax laws and regulations
- Minimize tax liability through sound and informed application of laws and regulations
- Provide assistance during tax audits
- Respond to notices from tax authorities
- Direct client contact involving income tax matters, transactional consulting, tax research, and compliance.
- Ability to anticipate client questions and prepared to respond with practical and solutions that can be implemented
- Maintain a complete knowledge of the Firm’s philosophy and be conversant with its reports, letters and manuals relating to matters of policy and other tax position philosophies
- Manage client engagement with regard to budget and deadlines
- Involved with all phases of engagement through completion while exercising best practices in regard to the proper sequence of engagement events and the anticipation of problems and identification of potential solutions
The Tax Manager is responsible for ensuring quality tax services, accounting and consulting work for the firm’s clients, in compliance with tax regulations and GAAP. Further, he\she is responsible for building positive client relationships and providing exceptional client service. The Tax Manager plans, budgets and organizes engagements. The Tax Manager supervises, trains, and develops the firm’s professional staff.

Job Requirements
Requirements:
- Two - five years of experience for Tax Senior. 4+ years of experience for Tax Supervisor and Tax Manager
- Significant experience with pass-through entities as well as high-net worth individuals
- Experience supervising and developing team members
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other degree and coursework that is qualified for taking the CPA examination
- Licensed CPA for Supervisor and Manager roles, currently pursing CPA licensure is good for Tax Senior role
- Tech savvy with strong working knowledge of tax-related technology, including the use of Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Go-Systems and RIA Checkpoint are a plus
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Thrives in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
- Wants to be a valuable contributor to the organization
