Job Description
My client, a Top-20 national CPA firm is seeking a Tax Manager with extensive experience working with Ultra HNW individuals and family offices. The position is located in New York City and can be hybrid.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- The Tax Manager in our Family Office team is expected to have high technical knowledge in review and prepare complex individual 1040 returns, fiduciary 1041 returns, 706, 709, family partnerships, private foundations, entity and foreign filing
- Experience with client facing, communicating with clients
- Scheduling work loads
- Leading engagements, being their point of contact
- Manage accounts, train, assign work to staff and communicate directly to clients and partners
- Research topics communicate directly with tax authorities as needed. In addition, they should be able to research more complex topics, go out on proposals and be an expert in the area of individual tax; is able to identify client needs
- Responsible for billing and collections
- Mentors and supports the staff

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting/Taxation
- CPA, JD or EA required
- 5+ years of experience in a public accounting firm doing PCS work
- 1+ year of supervisory experience
- Ability to lead, manage and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment
- Experience with foreign filing, FBAR and multistate
- Strong knowledge and experience with Excel
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ProSystem, CCH Axcess & Engagement, Caseware and BNA
- Exceptional organizational, communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills
