A wealth management and financial planning firm is seeking a Tax Manager. The firm provides comprehensive financial planning and investment management with a strong focus on year-round tax planning, and also prepares tax returns for a growing client base.

Responsibilities

• Review and sign complex individual income tax returns, trusts, and gift tax returns with high attention to detail
• Assist the tax director in maintaining high-quality tax services and client service while expanding capacity
• Assist financial advisors with tax projections and research throughout the year
• Respond to notices from the IRS and other tax authorities
• Maintain a client-first service mentality

Qualifications

• CPA license required
• Minimum 8+ years of progressive tax experience
• Significant experience reviewing and signing individual income tax returns
• Strong knowledge of tax reporting for investment income, including partnership flow-through items, multi-state returns, and tax basis calculations
• Experience with trust, partnership, and gift tax returns a plus
• Strong tax research skills
• High comfort level with technology and electronic tax workpapers
• Proficiency in CCH Axcess preferred
• Team-oriented, able to work across all levels of the firm and with clients
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
