Technical Sales – Wisconsin Based

An exciting opportunity with a chemical manufacturer looking for an experienced sales professional living in Wisconsin who has sold lubricants or metalworking fluids.  This company is growing and offers a collaborative environment.

Duties:

  • Visit target customers in Wisconsin and some of Minnesota on a regular basis to promote company products, initiate new projects, obtain new approvals, and generate new business for lubricant and rust preventatives.
  • Provide technical sales presentations to customers to promote company products and services.
  • Develop and execute a sales plan / territory and customers coverage plan to achieve agreed upon sales volume goals and sales growth targets (one year, three year).
  • Follow-up on sales call reports, sample requests, customer projects and other requests from customers.
  • Work closely with company Technical Service department to develop performance data, solve customers’ problems / issues and provide technical assistance to customers.
  • Initiate product testing and product optimization proposals for specific customer projects and support the needs of customers / new business opportunities.
  • Write visiting reports and periodic sales and market reports.
  • Actively participate in sales budgeting and sales / technical training / meetings.
  • Participates in company-wide effort to maintain working knowledge and promote quality assurance in compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Extensive travel to meet with customers / prospects in Michigan and may go as far north as Minneapolis. Estimated at 50-60%.

Salary

$115,000 - $125,000

Technical Qualifications:

  • 4-year college degree in Engineering, Sciences, or Business preferred or equivalent experience in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial industries.
  • 5 years’ experience in technical sales of lubricants, specialty chemicals or related industries.
  • Strong background in metal stamping, machining, roll forming and tube bending preferred.
  • Strong technical background in manufacturing processes and methods.
