Technologist

Large specialty chemical company is looking for a Technical Specialist with a BS degree or higher in the sciences and 2 or more years of experience in polymer coatings testing and development.  This is an excellent early career opportunity to work with a world-class global chemical company that offers fantastic benefits including a bonus program.  Local candidates only.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Delivering project results on time, ensuring quality and feasibility, according to business needs
  • Developing new products and technologies
  • Developing a fundamental understanding of key coating attributes
  • Testing/support of existing technologies, products, and processes
  • Correct use of methodologies, tools, and systems
  • Protection of company technologies
  • Maintains and promotes a safe work environment and complies with safety policies and procedures. Follows safe work practices for personal and equipment safety, in both the laboratory and in the field.  End results are zero or minimum safety incidents and a clean, orderly working environment
  • Conducts a significant level of formulation or technical work (in the lab) as defined in the project plan
  • Asks appropriate questions to clarify requirements, expectations, and critical performance parameters
  • Documents (lab) results, visits, etc. through appropriate reporting systems
  • Is familiar with and applies relevant experimental, development, and/or analytical approaches and techniques
  • Contribute to test method development as needed, in order to better understand and evaluate coating properties and performance
  • Effectively collate and report results and propose conclusions and recommendations within agreed timescales using appropriate methods. Explains function/technical concepts in a way that the technical team understands their value

Technical Qualifications:
